The Stripey Sheep The Stripey Sheep was established in 2006 by Lara Cowley and is based in Keswick, the heart of the Lake District National Park. In 2021 the shop was taken on by Salome Denny, an international charity worker also local to Keswick. The Stripey Sheep has its own label 'Sundar' which means 'beautiful' or 'handsome' in Nepali, a name that mirrors many of the clothing and accessories that we sell. At the Stripey Sheep we pride ourselves on selling clothing and accessories that have been fairly traded from the Far East and across the globe. Since starting the business in 2006 and in the past 6 years, we have made regular trips to the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal and India, to source these handmade items produced using the skill and craftsmanship of local people. We are now branching out to sourcing beautiful items from Africa, South America and other parts of Asia! We will also be sourcing handmade local goods in the UK to help support the local trade! In purchasing these items you are helping to support local economies, not mass production |
